“Sunday Social:” Pop-Up @ Long Live Roxbury
This Sunday morning at Long Live Roxbury, we gathered for a heart-opening yoga session that was the perfect analog to a typical football Sunday. With the whole brewery to ourselves, Katie and guest instructor Abby Sonnenfeldt (@yoga.abby) led us through a fun, bodyweight-only flow that mixed some serious movement with moments of deep relaxation.
From the get-go, Katie invited us to create space in our hearts for childlike joy, setting the intention to open up and make room for creativity. We flowed through some energizing poses and playful transitions, embracing the freedom to move and breathe. Abby took us through a core-charging sequence and some standing poses that built up to a whole-body stretch, ending our practice with a calming meditation.
We wrapped things up by hanging out with a local beer or a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage in hand at the inpsiring Long Live brewery, socializing and celebrating the good vibes of the morning (no fantasy football talk allowed!). There was a mini-work reunion as some of Katie’s former and current colleagues joined in the fun! We even had some pint-sized (brewery pun intended) guests join for the post-yoga social hour.
It was a morning full of heart, connection, and movement, reminding us that sometimes the best way to open our hearts is by connecting with one another.
